The Holiday Bonus Sephora Sale is about to begin and ladies, it’s a good one. Once a year, Sephora holds this huge sale before Black Friday. It’s the perfect way to stock up on makeup and beauty products for yourself if you were planning to stock up before the year ends, or as gifts for the upcoming holidays. Even brands that don’t normally go on sale, like Drunk Elephant and Charlotte Tilbury are part of it! All you need to do to shop is be a Sephora insider, which is free to sign up for! If you’re a VIB or Insider you can shop November 7-11. VIB members get 15% off and Insiders get 10% off with code HOLIDAYSAVE.

I’ve linked all the gift sets that include my favorite products that I use daily, perfect for presents for your fave gal pals or stocking stuffers! And there are so many more to browse from here as well.

Gift Sets

Summer Friday’s Set – My all time favorite skin care products, the perfect starter pack to try out the brand!

Laneige Lip Set – This lip mask is my life saver in the winter and I’ve been dying to try out the gloss.

Kerastase Shine Set – I’ve been using this hair serum for almost a year now!

Fresh Sugar Lip Kit – Always my go-to chapstick.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Set – The most perfect, looks good on everyone, lipstick, in a set with matching lipliner.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo Set – Everyone’s holy grail dry shampoo with a bonus mini!

My Daily Make Up

I also wanted to link all of my daily make up and skin care products I’m currently using, most of which don’t regularly go on sale!

Foundation – I use shade 5 warm and love the full, all day coverage!

Concealer – Just started trying this out as I’m just not on board with the Shape Tape train like everyone else seems to be. I’m shade 3 fair.

Powder – One of the very few products I have used to the bottom and purchased time and time again! I use shade medium and love this over my under-eye concealer.

Bronzer and Highlighter – Talk about a glow! Love the bronzer especially, my palette is medium/dark.

Mascara – Big and Bold!

Drug store Mascara 1 and 2 – I always combine and layer mascaras, and these two are my favorites on the cheaper end. They compliment each other so well for long, yet voluminous lashes.

Daily Skin Care

Jet Lag Mask – Life. Changing. I have super dry skin since living in NYC and I use this every day as my morning moisturizer/primer! Also, so good for refreshing your under eyes by wearing a thick layer on them overnight.

The Best Exfoliater Ever – Safe on my super sensitive skin, and smells like pumpkins. I use this in the shower twice a week and have seen a drastic change in my skin’s smoothness and brightness.

Vitamin C Serum – Been loving this new product every morning to help with uneven skin tone.

Lip Mask – Use this every night, especially in winter!

Happy Holidays and happy shopping!

Cheers! Mackenzie

Spring Break Ready Glow

Whether you’re a student and about to have a spring break trip, or trapped in an office in NYC praying the snow predictions for tonight are false, I think we can all agree that it’s time for some warmth and sunshine. I for one know that I can’t wait to pull out all the white denim and flowy dresses and trade my snow boots in for sandals. It’s the time that people start taking their first beach vacations of the year and with that of course, comes the dreaded moment of putting on a swimsuit and facing the world in our pasty winter skin.

I grew up spending hours and hours laying out by the pool trying to get that bronzed-goddess glow we all strive for, but as I have gotten older I have begun to care a lot more about the long term effects of what the sun does to my skin. And although you would never find me at a tanning salon, I finally decided to give self tanner a try. I am so excited to share my new tanning routine with y’all cause guys, it is so good and mind-blowingly easy.

If you know me well, you know I have incredibly sensitive skin and am allergic to just about everything. Finding a self tanner that not only worked, but was vegan and sensitive skin safe was not an easy task. That being said, I am so glad I heard about Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Water.

The simplest of applications, it sprays on clear, like water! I have been using the green bottle which is the medium shade. I use it at night before bed and wash it off in the shower the next morning (it doesn’t stain clothes or sheets). I do this after having exfoliated my skin the morning of or day before with a good body scrub (I just bought a cheap brown sugar scrub at Target). I spray it all over, section by section, starting with my legs then up to my torso and arms. After spritzing a few times in each area, I rub it around with a Tan Applicator Mitt as to make sure it’s even and to help prevent my hands from turning orange. Make sure to not get your skin wet for several hours after application to let it soak in. I have never had an experience where it didn’t come out even and glowing, and can’t say enough good things about this product! I reapply about once a week. *After use be sure to wash off the bottoms of your feet as you are standing in all the residue and don’t want to end up with bright orange bottoms of your feet. Trust me I’ve been there, rookie mistake lol.

I did try it out on my face as well, I was really hoping it was a one item works for all kind of thing, but my face did have a slight reaction, which is super common for me. If you don’t have super sensitive skin I do suggest trying it on on your face though! I decided to try the Self Tanning Drops that Isle of Paradise offers instead. They are just as, if not more, simple than the spray. You apply a few drops (anywhere from 2-12) to your daily moisturizer and mix together in your hands. Then you spread it all over your face and on you neck just as you would your every day face lotion! Make sure to rub into your eyebrows and hairline to not create white lines around those areas. I also rubbed mine onto my lips to make sure there wasn’t a white section around my mouth. I started with 4 drops, as I am naturally tan, but have found the perfect shade for me is with about 6 or 7 drops of the medium color (green bottle). I exfoliate my skin right before use, with an exfoliating mask. I do this 2-3 times a week just adding it into my nightly routine, as I use lots of face masks and skin care products that pull the color out of my face quicker than the rest of my body. Make SURE to wash your hands well after, and get inbetween your fingers. Your hands, like your feet, will come out darker than the rest of your skin. It is currently only sold at Sephora and sold out online, but you can find them in most Sephora stores still and they will restock soon!

I truly love this combo and will probably be using it year round to keep this gorgeous bronze tone I’ve become so fond of. Hope this helps out anyone looking for a natural looking spring glow! All products linked below.

Top 10 Beauty Products of 2018

As a New Year begins and I start trying to set new goals and better take care of myself, I find myself thinking back on last year and the great products I discovered for my skin and hair. A huge part of being “fashionable” is having great looking locks and a shining smiling face in addition to the pretty clothes. One of my goals for this year is to find the perfect skin regimen that works for me and to really stick to it. During your mid twenties is the perfect time to start making sure you preserve your youthful skin! (I’ll be sure to keep y’all updated on everything I try and what my end results are!!!)

In the last year, I did have tons of amazing make up and hair care finds that became part of my daily routine, and I’m so excited to share my top 10 beauty finds of the year with you guys! These are in no particular order, but are all products I truly love and use consistently.

This one might be my favorite find of the year. I suffer from ridiculously chapped lips, like I’m talking peeling and flaking off everyday, and have never understood why. It’s a year round problem for me which is crazy as I drink 72+ ounces of water a day, BUT this has been life changing! I use it 3 or 4 times a week and just apply a thick layer before bed and it has done wonders for me. It keeps my lips moisturized and smooth and actually makes them feel plumper when I wake up!

Lip Mask – Laneige

My all time fave replacement for body wash. This shower gel not only cleanses, but leaves you smelling absolutely incredible and feeling silky smooth. It’s super moisturizing, and I recently started using it to shave my legs and they are so incredibly soft, even in this chilly winter weather!

Shower Oil – L’Occitane

Also such a game changer! I had never understood the dry shampoo craze until about 6 months ago when I first tried this stuff. I had used several drug store brands and just found my hair become flaky and full of white dust, but remained oily. Living Proof is AMAZING and has changed my everyday hair for the better. I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week now and don’t have to worry about looking like a slob when I don’t have time to redo it!

Dry Shampoo – Living Proof

This stuff has done wonders for preserving my blonde! I seriously could add an extra month between coloring because of how bright this keeps my blonde and how much it helps reduce brassiness.

Brightening Treatment – Kenra

Clearly this tube is basically empty haha. I LOVE Tula skin care. It will for sure be the first brand I try to expand my daily skin routine with. This wash is amazing and actually leaves my skin feeling totally refreshed. Their line is made with probiotics, which I fully believe are the key to healthy skin!

Face Wash – Tula

Talk about worth the price-tag. I love Charlotte Tilbury and this product is one of the main reasons for that. I have super dark circles and even with great concealer they would start showing about half way through the day. This setting powder has fixed that problem for me and made my everyday face makeup look so much smoother!

Setting Powder – Charlotte Tilbury

One of the most talked about make up products I have ever seen, and I have zero clue as to why I waited so long to jump on the bandwagon. Again, my dark circles are hereditary and atrocious, but this is the first concealer that I have felt truly brightens my under eyes! It also is amazing to help in contouring your nose. I have orangey undertones and wear the color light-medium honey.

Concealer – Tarte

I love this thing. I had been using a Target bought, $23 curling iron for the last few years and just felt like it was taking way too long and killing my hair. I got this thing on sale at a crazy price and can say it’d be worth every penny at full price. I have the 1.25” automatic rotating iron, and as cool as it is, I honestly like the curls I make on my own better. The single pass barrel is cheaper and would be just as good!

Curling Iron – T3 Micro

Back to my hair feeling like it was full of breakage, this was another solution I found to that problem! The coils help to not pull out and break strands of hair, while still holding it up. And it doesn’t leave marks on your arm and cut off circulation like a typical elastic.

Hair Ties – Invisibobble

I have written about this mascara before, but again, I always come back to it. 2018 was a year of trying to find the biggest and best eyelashes for me, and no matter how many different brands I tried, I always resort to this.

Mascara – Too Faced

Hope you enjoyed reading about my favorite beauty finds of the year, and maybe found something here that you’ve been looking for too!

Cheers! Mackenzie

Warm Striped Sweater

Made it to The Berkshires in Massachusetts last night after the world’s longest (and most fun) car ride. We woke up this morning to a light snow and it was SO PRETTY to watch fall through the floor to ceiling windows in our adorable Airbnb.

Wearing the perfect sweater today that is incredibly warm and so are the colors! My jeans are currently on sale 30% off and are my FAVORITE jeans to wear all year round. I love how flattering they are and always feel good with them on. Now I’m off to go explore some cute little New England towns today. Shop my look below!

New Year’s Eve Last Minute Looks

New Year’s Eve is right around the corner and I know some of you out there have made super last minute plans and are freaking out about what to wear. I’ve rounded up some AMAZING outfits for any type of night you got going on, and they’re all under $130! All of these can get here in time for NYE with free shipping if ordered today!!!

First up are some sparkly numbers that would be perfect for a big party or a fancier event where you want to bring the house down with your look. Click the pics to see these dresses.

Great price for a sexy little sparkly dress! Classic NYE.

Very sleek and classy with some glitter thrown in there.

Fun streaks of color in a basic black sparkly piece.

SO colorful and fun!

Next up are some non-dress options that are still a bit more dressed up.

Such a closet staple and dress up any outfit.

Could be thrown over any basic black outfit to keep warm and look super chic.

Would look super cute with leather leggings and booties!

All the sparkles of the dresses, but can be worn comfortably with pants or even a skirt.

Lastly, I rounded up some jumpsuits for those of us who want to go out and get dressed up, but still want the cozy feeling of being home in our pjs!

Talk about comfort I NEED this one.

Nothing like a classic black jumpsuit! Can be dressed up or down.

I wore this on Christmas Eve and got showered with compliments. SUCH a pretty color.

A super classy look that can be worn time and time again.

Cheers! Mackenzie
